Cross Country Skiing in Val Gardena

Vallunga, a wonderful side valley in Selva Gardena, offers a unique panorama for cross country skiers. A total of 12 km of runs lead from the Carabinieri Sports Centre to the end of the valley. Vallunga is part of the Puez – Odle nature reserve, north-east of Selva Gardena.
There is a cross country ski school and a ski rental at the start of the runs. Cross country paradise Vallunga (at 1600 – 1800 m)

It can be reached on foot in approx. 20 min. There is a car park behind the Carabinieri Sports Centre. Nearby there is a branch office of the Selva Gardena ski and cross country school with a cross country ski rental which also functions as meeting point and ski deposit. It represents the start of all runs leading into Vallunga.

In the first, flat part of the valley there are trails of 1, 2 und 3 km, respectively marked in blue and green, very ideal and recommended for beginners!
For expert cross country skiers there is a 5 km training trail, marked in red; it is homologated for national cross country races.

For a longer cross country tour (marked in black) you can cross the whole valley on a 10 km loop in the middle of a fantastic mountain panorama, the Stevia and Chedul mountain groups, up to the wide "Pra da Ri" meadow.

In Vallunga there are also several quiet walks and hikes.
